Dr. Debra Trevisan, Ph.D.,C.Psych.
Clinical & Rehabilitation Psychologist
My Services
Consultation, Assessment & Diagnosis
Diagnostic assessments are provided upon request to clarify the nature of psychological problems and to recommend appropriate treatment. All psychological assessment reports provide a full DSM-V diagnosis and are completed in a timely manner.
Please note that all appointments are being offered virtually (by telephone and/or videoconference using a secure platform for online therapy).
Individual Psychotherapy with Adults
My objectives are for you to feel heard, understood, supported and guided on your journey of personal growth during our time together. While total length of treatment is hard to predict and dependent on several therapist and client factors, we will work collaboratively to evaluate your progress in therapy and determine if/when therapy can be tapered and/or eventually terminated.

Therapeutic Approach
My psychotherapy approach is informed by the most current research relevant to the practice of Clinical and Rehabilitation Psychology and tailored to your specific therapy needs and goals. I practice Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and incorporate treatment interventions and strategies from Psychodynamic, Mindfulness, Narrative, Solution-Focused, Experiential, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Humanistic therapy orientations. I have a special interest in the assessment and treatment of Acute and Chronic Insomnia using Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I).
CBT-I
Special Interest
I have a special interest in the assessment and treatment of Acute and Chronic Insomnia using CBT-I. The initial assessment includes a thorough sleep history to understand the nature of your sleep problems and factors that may be related to your sleep difficulties such as mood and anxiety symptoms and/or other life stressors.
NARCISSISM
Special Interest
I have a special interest in helping individuals who have experienced emotional abuse in the context of a relationship with someone who may have narcissistic traits and/or meets the criteria for Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD). The narcissistic person could be a friend, co-worker, boss, partner, spouse, parent, sibling, or other family member.
CBT
Evidence-Based Approach
Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is a type of psychotherapy that helps people identify and change unhelpful thought patterns and behaviours to reduce distress and improve coping. It is the gold standard treatment for Anxiety and Depression and is an effective therapy for some other mental health issues (e.g., Bulimia Nervosa, Borderline Personality Disorder, Substance Use Disorder).
