SPECIAL INTERESTS

I have a special interest in the assessment and treatment of Acute and Chronic Insomnia. The initial assessment includes a thorough sleep history to understand the nature of your sleep problems and factors that may be related to your sleep difficulties such as mood and anxiety symptoms and/or other life stressors. The assessment consists of an in-depth clinical interview and the completion of self-report questionnaires. I offer CBT for insomnia (CBT-I) which involves collaboratively developing healthy sleep promoting behaviours and examining the relationship between thoughts, feelings, and behaviours in the context of specific sleep difficulties. CBT-I is time-limited and usually ranges from 6-10 sessions.

Narcissistic Abuse Recovery

The relationship dynamics with a narcissistic person are quite complicated and narcissism is often misunderstood and very hard to spot. More often than not, a person feels like something is “not quite right” in the relationship. There is confusion, insecurity, instability, and oftentimes intimidation and fear (coercive control) present in the relationship. If it’s a romantic relationship and you have children with the narcissistic person, then parental alienation might also be happening. While I cannot diagnose someone I am not seeing professionally, if you think you have previously experienced or are currently experiencing narcissistic abuse, I can help you understand what narcissism is, how it has impacted you and your relationship, and how to heal from the abuse.
